Magna is a census designated place in Salt Lake County, Utah. It is a suburban community located about 10 miles west of Salt Lake City and few miles from the southern coast of Great Salt Lake.

According to the United States Census Bureau of 2000, Magna has a population of more than 22,000 people. The community has a total area of 7.4Â square miles with a population density of over 3,000 people per square mile. It is located at high altitudes of over 4,000 feet above sea level.
The racial demographics of Magna are 81.78% White, 0.66% African American, 1.02% Native American, 1.69% Asian, 2.34% Pacific Islander, 9.82% from other races, and 2.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race are 19.62% of the population.
